My Story

Plants in front of Banister home

I’ve always had a passion for beautiful outdoor spaces - places that are inviting and somewhat mysterious.

Landscape is experiential, not just outdoors, but it frames how we experience inside spaces. The outside is another room, an extension of the building you live or work in. It invites you out, and it welcomes you in.  These are the spaces many architects neglect to design, and that’s where my work comes in. How do we relate the outside to the inside space.

A native Texan, the Hill Country and West Texas landscapes are an inspiration for my design process. The plants and hardscape materials we use are ones that have staying power. We are adapting our native ecology to suit the urban lived experience. Low water high heat plants. The materials we use echo the state’s heritage - stone and steel. Natural, minimal, modern.
