About this project:

In 2024 I started revisiting the use of stone and masonry in the landscape. I love how this sandstone site wall works to distinguish the private and public spaces in this 19040’s bungalow front yard in south Austin. In addition to the wall, the street-facing half of the old lawn is now planted with native perennials and cactus. There’s a subtle nod to west texas with this stone and the yucca and cactus.

Also, I’ve moved towards a rusted wire mesh (instead of galvanized hog panel) for screening with this project. It has a more refined texture.
